Does Your Child Know She or He is Autistic?
Does Your Child Know She or He is Autistic?
Very interesting question, and one that we haven't quite mastered yet. Whenever I've brought it up in conversation my one 12 year old daughter just doesn't want to talk about it.

I don't even know what to say when I see her, but this is a good rebuttal to pretty much anything she says. It upsets me more than I can say that a lot of people now consider her the "face" of autism parents.

Blind Irishman sees with the aid of son's tooth in his eye - Yahoo! News
I think that this is possibly the oddest medical headline that I've seen, and that's saying something.
Medical student gives a speech to the families of those who have donated their bodies for study purposes
vitum medicinus ::: a life of medicine: This memorial service is unique in that it is so much more.
I can't count the number of people that I know who are organ donors, but refuse to check off the "give my body for study" box on their form as they think that all that medical students are going to do is play pranks with their bodies. I think that I'll save a copy of this speech.
YouTube - "Unforgettable" - Trailer
This looks like a fascinating documentary. I'm always amazed at my daughters' memory skills...it's not unusual for either of them to come out with statements such as "Remember when we went to the park on August 18th, 1999 and met the little boy with the blue overalls and purple shirt? He was cool." It makes them rather difficult to deal with sometimes, as you definitely can't forget promises that you've made, or explanations that you've given!

The Craziness You've Heard People Say in Their Sleep
The Craziness You've Heard People Say in Their Sleep:
"Apparently I talk in my sleep as well. According to my manager, and corroborated by my phone's outgoing call log, I attempted to call off work one morning because I didn't like the smell of peaches."
Some of these are great. Of course, my husband regularly tries to protect us from the Russian Revolutionaries who are apparently coming to sack our house, find recipes for cake for when the Queen comes over later that day, and insists that I write reports for a company that doesn't exist, so maybe I have a finer appreciation for them.
And my daughter just told me that when her asthma was bothering her the other night I told her to go and get her puffer from the gas station in the basement.
Apparently someone's not familiar with the effects of brownies

Email: "Hello Jeanette!
Create voluptuous and dramatically defined lashes with no clumps in sight with NEW Define-A-Lash® Volume Mascara."
I'd like to thank them, because it is a priority in my life at the moment. After all, with one kid suffering from pneumonia, neurotic kid off on a 3 day field trip with monster bullies from school, and my son eating himself and attacking everyone else in sight, my main thought when I get up in the morning IS how to improve my lashes.
I guess that it's an improvement over telling me that my penis isn't big enough to satisfy my girlfriend.
