Societe P.A.R.C. Society - SnoezelenTM Equipment

As soon as I get the chance, I'm going to build one of these in my house. If you have an autistic child/children, they can work wonders. AND you can do them very inexpensively.

Talking to Americans

Much as I love Americans, sometimes they're not the most educated people around. Canada is right BESIDE you, people...we're your biggest trading partners, historical allies, longest fairly undefended border in the world (at least until our border guards get gun)...we actually do NOT abandon senior citizens on ice floes, and we don't have a National Igloo. It's fun to learn about your neighbours.

But I'd have Rick Mercer's babies in a second if he wasn't differently inclined, I didn't already have too many kids, and wasn't happily attached. But in a different universe, he's all mine!
(Well, he and Keira Knightley, but that's a different story).

Guilt

The Guilt List

I have read most of these, skipped others, and started some and tossed them. I love READING, and stories, not necessarily "literature". But you could do a lot worse than use this list as a reference if you're looking for things to read.

While it's disappointingly religious, and often seems tacky, there are some incredibly good articles and helps here for couples involved in a serious relationship. Life isn't always pretty, but there is always hope :-)

Drew Curtis' TOTALFARK.com

Drew Curtis' TOTALFARK.com

Where I live online....Fark.com's older sibling. Great links, funny people, minimal amounts of community drama for a large site. Since I've been there the community has mourned and supported members through deaths and illnesses, helped people get married, raised money for various causes, debated everything, had actual meat world parties that rocked, swapped stories about everything, laughed at each other and the world around us, worried, fought, debated, mourned, poked fun at everything, given up on the world and resolved to better it...it has pretty much everything. Sometimes you have to wade through the idiots and trolls to see the real spirit of the community, but it's definitely there.

The Bookshelf

One of my favourite places in the world. Great bookstore/cafe/bar/cinema, all in one. Worth a visit if you're ever in Guelph. If they still have the blueberry cheesecake, go for it.

McSweeneys is still one of my favourite places online, and I grew up in the 80s. Enough said.

Set Daily Puzzle

My morning ritual (after a smoke and the first cup of coffee). There's nothing like starting out the day feeling stupid, but I'm addicted. Best time so far- 52 seconds. Quiddler is good as well, but I seem to have a problem coming up with X words before I'm really awake.
